Set Beautiful Prop
What happens when a movie set is built and then, after the movie…?
what do they do with these wonderful sets?
TItanic for instance…the fake and beautiful ship that they built, what happened to that set?
(I sometimes think,”God! Wouldn’t it be awesome, if they could build actual places for these incredible sets for visitors like the public to come and BE in that old movie set!”…as in like almost having an amusement/ museum park…that was once part of an incredible movie set!!) Don’t you think that this would be pretty great?
Maybe it would help preserve the set, and heck they would earn more money for the set that they had to make so elaborately real!!
What do you all think?
Oh, and also, they could also have a museum of the smaller props (as in making a museum of all of the incredible movie props..such as the “Maltese Falcon” etc….)

It depends. If they built a house for a movie, after the filming, they would end up putting it on the market. In your example, I’m not sure what they did with the “Titanic” they built, but I’m sure it’s in a museum somewhere. For smaller artifacts, such as one’s in “Maltese Falcon,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” etc., they get put in museums. If the film is considered a classic, the props get put in the Smithsonian (such as Indy’s hat, jacket, and whip from “Raiders”). Most of the sets are done on a back-lot, so after filming, they’re just torn down. Others, they use actual houses or buildings that have already been built and are just renting them.
Your ideas are great and it would be awesome to have that. I’ve often thought about trying to open a big car museum, dedicated solely to cars that were in movies, such as the “Blues-Mobile” in “The Blues Brothers,” the DeLorean time machine in “Back to the Future,” the Ecto-1 from “Ghostbusters,” etc. That would be really cool.
