White/Black photo backdrop?
I already have a white + black cotton muslin backdrop, however when i turn the studio lights on, and take the photo, i can see the very fine lines, which are the threads of the material. do i need another backdrop? if so which type is best? paper, or thicker cotton? or will the current one i have do? in which case how would i combat this problem and solve it?? many thanks XDXD
You need to increase the distance from subject to backdrop, and select a wide aperture in Av mode. In other word use depth of field to throw the background well out of focus. (differential focusing). With smaller apertures you can try focusing slightly in front of your subject, but its easier to move the backdrop several feet away.
For black background keeping the background in shadow also helps.
