Buying a light box might seem to be a simple enough decision and it is actually not rocket science, but still a lot of people end up making the wrong purchase decision and buy a light box that does not either suit their requirements or does not deliver the kind of quality that they want. Go for a size that is large enough for all your needs and yet small enough to be easily installed in your home or office. If you plan to travel with your lightbox, then you might have to compromise a little on size. In general, people who want to look at larger pictures go for large wall mounted light boxes , while technicians and scientists can easily make do with small and compact desk top light boxes.
Accessories: The accessories that a light box comes with are important if you are planning to buy a complete package and do not want to hunt for bulbs and tubes after paying for a new light box. Make sure that whatever kind of light box you buy, its bulbs and tubes are included with the package free of cost. Trust me, there are manufacturers and retailers who expect you to pay extra for a light box’s lights! Then again, ensure that you get a strong and sturdy stand with your light box if it is going to be a floor or desk stand design. You might need to check about removable grids if you are planning to use your lightbox for stuff like DNA sequencing or examining biotechnology samples.
Cost : Cost is a factor that exists in all our purchases and a light box is no different. You can find light boxes being sold within an extremely large price range and you might find these boxes selling from $100 to $500. Of course your budget is the most important thing that you need to consider when deciding upon how much to shell out for a lightbox, but keep in mind that you will be able to find better deals if you buy your light box from an online store instead of buying from a brick and mortar showroom.
Longevity: Lightboxes are mostly composed of glass or polymer materials that are fragile looking.
