Hot Shoe Sync
Hot shoe/sync lead question?

Hiya,

My canon 400D doesn’t have anywhere to put a sync lead when I’m using lighting kits, I have been told to buy something that fits on the hot shoe that will allow me to plug a sync lead into it. any suggestions on what I need? Thanks!

xx

I think this is what you’re looking for. I recently bought a cable from this little company and was very pleased with their service. http://www.flashzebra.com/hotshoes-shoes/index.shtml

Oh and by the way:
Just VERY recently, I have been struggling to find a good way to fire my flash off camera. I tried the cable, but that couldn’t make that work properly. I can’t afford a set of pocket wizards. I tried the radio triggers I have for my cheap little studio light set up, but the results were weird……. sort of worked sometimes, but not reliably. Very annoying.

In the end I gave up and went genuine Canon. I bought the ST-E2 speedlight transmitter. I got it second-hand (in perfect condition) for much less money.
It arrived yesterday. I pulled it out of the box, put in on my camera, and it worked perfectly, right away and every time.

It sure is nice to have the real thing sometimes :-)
