When it comes to digital cameras, you will often have to choose between buying a portable camera, and one that takes professional-quality photographs. Small compact cameras usually do not have a lot of features and professional cameras are usually relatively big and bulky. After a lot of browsing, I came across the Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP digital camera (black), which in my opinion is the perfect balance between features and portability.
The Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP digital camera measures art 4.1″x1.5″x2.4″, which is slightly larger than your average point-and-shoot model. It looks a little different too. Unlike the usually, sleek and stylish design, the SX200IS sports a very professional design, sending vibes that it is a ‘serious’ camera. It has a matte black surface, a pop-up flash and silver edges – the color palette of traditional retro professional cameras.
Although it is on the large side for a compact camera, it is much smaller than digital SLR cameras and other professional cameras. The slightly larger size is due to the fact that it bellies many features that are found in professional cameras.
For starters, it s can take images of up to 12.1MP in resolution. It also has a powerful 12x optical zoom and a large 28mm wide-angle lens. The 28mm lens enable you to capture more within one shot without the need to find a further vantage point. It has the usual red-eye correction, image stabilization and face detection feature. It also has a blink detection feature. The camera will let you know if it senses that anyone was blinking in the last shot so that you can retake the shot before the subject moves away.
The Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP digital camera comes with a huge scratch-resistant 3″ LCD screen. The screen’s brightness and contrasts automatically adjust to the surrounding lighting conditions for optimum viewing. This camera also record HD videos and comes with a HDMI output.
