Beautiful SLR Camera Film Camera

Which Digital SLR Camera To Choose? Please Read + Advice?
I used film Slrs for some years, then I got myself a Nikon D200…as my first digital slr. It was just too heavy for me, albeit a beautiful camera. MY film camera was a Nikon also.
I am now stuck!
I have done photography for 8 years. I am pretty serious about it, it is a great passion. But I want a camera that is damn good, and that is not too heavy to carry out with me daily in my bag.
I have to choose between:
Olympus E510 (inferior sensor chip apparently)
Nikon D80 (still feels so damn heavy!)
Canon 450D or 400D (feels nice in hands but the bodys feel so plasticy and cheap, with scratched buttons)
I do not have experience of the Pentax cameras, tho some look quite decent.
I have three cameras that I use at present: a D200 (like you), a D3 and an F6 (film SLR). All Nikon. What you are paying for, and lugging around is the magnesium alloy construction. It confers strength and durability.
For the most part, a “damn good” camera is one that has heft as well. Get a good camera bag or invest in a photographer’s jacket. This transfers the weight from the neck to the hips. Much more comfortable. I really appreciated it when I had to trek through Burma!
If you stay with Nikon, then you can use your other lenses, and have access to the widest range of lenses available.
